Rude Osolnik Signed Mid-Century Modern Walnut Wood Turned Vessel Bud Weed Vase

A beautifully executed, handmade, wood-turned vase by master woodturner Rude Osolnik who is widely regarded, along with Bob Stocksdale, as one of the finest woodturners in American woodturning history. In 1992, he was presented by then Kentucky Governor Brereton Jones, the Milner Award, the Governor's Award for Lifetime Achievement. The vase which is made from a beautiful dark walnut with highlighted areas is signed "Osolnik Originals Walnut" by the artist on the base. A very wonderful gem of a piece that makes a beautiful impact. Would be a great addition to any midcentury or wood-turned collection or an eye-catching stand-alone work in about any setting, Mid-century or otherwise.  Osolnik's work can be found in such permanent collections as: The Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian The Boston Museum of Fine Arts Atlanta's High Museum The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago The Yale Museum The Speed Museum The Kentucky History Museum The Mayo Clinic The Connell Gallery Dimensions: 4" high, 3" wide, 3" deep.
