About the Item
A large and impressive Art Deco Ruskin crystalline glazed art pottery three handled vase by William Howson Taylor dated 1932. The earthenware vase is thickly made and is of round bulbous flagon shaped standing on a narrow round flat unglazed foot rim with slightly recessed base. The vase narrows to short neck with a fat rimmed opening and is applied with three flat looped handles which rest under the top rim. The vase is decorated in streaked crystalline glazes in tones of green, blue, orange and brown over a pale beige colored ground and extending to turquoise glazes around the foot. The vase has an impressed triangular RUSKIN mark incorporating the date 1932.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market
A fine example offered in good condition with usual signs of wear associated with age and use.

An exceptional, impressive unique Cobridge pottery ruskin glazed vase by Anita Harris and glazed by Justin Emery and dating from around 2000. The large round bulbous stoneware vase stands on a round skirted base with a widening round body and short flared top rim. The body of the vase is decorated in high fired deep red glazes with green almost textured like markings and with a deep blue interior. The vase bears various impressed makers marks to the base and comes with an original Certificate of Authenticity recording this as a Trial Piece by Anita Harris and bearing her signature. The vase further has a red paper label from the Henry Sandon Collection sale at Mallams, Oxford on 23rd May 2012.
