Salviati Venetian Pink Gold Flecks Dragon Serpent Italian Art Glass Small Vase
About the Item
Beautiful, rare antique early Venetian pink with gold leaf Italian art glass sea serpent or dragon mini vase. The piece is attributed to the Salviati Dott. Company, mid-1800s. The surface has a quilted diamond pattern that is a little bit raised, so you can feel it. It is also covered in gold leaf throughout. The heavy gold leaf is also in a diamond design on the surface. The body of the dragon / serpent curls around the body of the vase, with one part bent out to act like a handle. It is also filled with gold and the face is highly detailed, with black eyes and a pink tongue. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or curio cabinet. From the Victorian era. Collectors item! Measures: 4" tall x 3 1/2" long x 2 1/2" across the rim.
