Sawdust Fired Pottery by Chris Spanovich, New Mexico. This is a delicate piece of art, with neutral colors that as beautiful as the land where it was made. The rim is adorned with thin burlap rope. "ABOUT SAWDUST FIRED POTTERY A primitive technique of firing pots using sawdust as the main fuel, as opposed to gas or electricity. Each piece has been bisqued first to guarantee a uniform hardness. Sawdust is used for the aesthetic or visual effect. The low fired porous quality of these pieces make them unsuitable for liquids. Adorned with earth treasures from travels around the world and long walks in the mountains of New Mexico."

A very nice vintage California studio pottery ceramic vase by Catalina Pottery, circa 1930s. Great look and form on this gorgeous robin egg blue and white vessel. Hard to find piece of Catalina Pottery! #4359 Catalina Pottery (or Catalina Island Pottery) is the commonly used name for Catalina Clay Products, a division of the Santa Catalina Island Company, which produced brick, tile, tableware and decorative pottery on Santa Catalina Island, California. Catalina Clay Products was founded in 1927 by William Wrigley, Jr. of the Wrigley chewing gum family. He built a tile and brick pottery factory on a beach located near Avalon, Santa Catalina Island. The new pottery became Catalina Clay Products, a division of Wrigley's Santa Catalina Island Company. The pottery used local clays from the Island and had two business purposes: to produce clay building products and to provide the much needed year-round employment for Island residents. An exceptional, impressive unique Cobridge pottery ruskin glazed vase by Anita Harris and glazed by Justin Emery and dating from around 2000. The large round bulbous stoneware vase stands on a round skirted base with a widening round body and short flared top rim. The body of the vase is decorated in high fired deep red glazes with green almost textured like markings and with a deep blue interior. The vase bears various impressed makers marks to the base and comes with an original Certificate of Authenticity recording this as a Trial Piece by Anita Harris and bearing her signature. The vase further has a red paper label from the Henry Sandon Collection sale at Mallams, Oxford on 23rd May 2012.
