About the Item

Scandinavian modern model N 402 glass bowl designed by Kaj Franck for Nuutajärvi Notsjö in the 1960s. Blown glass, signed in the bottom, good vintage condition. Kaj Franck is one of the most internationally renowned Finnish ceramic and glass artists. Franck's numerous prizes and awards include the Milan Triennale in 1951 and 1954, the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1957, the Compasso d'Oro, the Prince Eugene Medal and the Lunning Prize. He was awarded the Pro Finlandia in 1957, the title of Professor in 1972 and an honorary doctorate from the Royal College of Art in London in 1983. Same bowl was shown at the "Kaj Franck - The Beauty of Geometry" - exhibition in the Finnish Glass Museum 23.2 - 29.4 2018.
