Scandinavian Modern Stoneware Vase attributed to Ewald Dahlskog for Bo Fajans

About the Item

This scandinavian modern stoneware vase attributed to Ewald Dahlskog for Bo Fajans is extremely elegant. It is labeled and deep stamped "Bo Fajans Sweden 1261," is most likely designed by Ewald Dahlskog between 1935 and 1951. It features a curved baluster shape, adorned with lines in relief that spiral diagonally upwards, adding a dynamic texture to its form. The vase is finished with a milky gray glaze, which gives it a sophisticated and timeless appearance. ABOUT Bo Fajans Bo Fajans, originally Bobergs Fajansfabrik AB, was a ceramic factory in Gävle active from 1874 to 1967. Founded by Erik Boberg, the factory initially produced utility goods but expanded to artistic earthenware under Gösta Boberg starting in 1910. From the 1920s, collaborations with designers like Gabriel Burmeister, Allan Ebeling, Eva Jancke-Björk, and Maggie Wibom broadened its artistic range. The factory name was changed to Bo Fajans in 1924. Many famous designers such as Gösta Boberg (1910–1940s), Allan Ebeling (1921–1927), Gabriel Burmeister (1922–1925), Eva Jancke-Björk (1925–1956), Maggie Wibom (1925–1933), Ewald Dahlskog (1929–1950) and Maud Fredin-Fredholm (1946–1949), Berit Ternell (1951–1957), Lillie Dahlgren (1956–1962), Christina Fiedler-Præstgaard (1958–1966), Tom Wilson (1961–1967) ) and Lena Brodin (1966–1967) have been involved at the factory over the years. Individual items have also been designed by Stig Blomberg, Karl Hultström, Ivar Johnsson and Irma Yourstone. The factory (which was located in Gävle) was closed in 1967 after production was taken over by Steninge Lervarufabrik.
