Secondo Fuoco Contemporary High Vase in Bronze and Slag

About the Item

Secondo Fuoco is an investigation into slags, a reflection on the multiple souls of matter: its mineral origin, re-obtained by smelting processes and its artificiality. A sculptural and material collection that combines the impurity of the scoria and the purity of bronze. Focusing on bronze slags TIPSTUDIO aims to enhance them, by preserving its conformation, its aesthetic and its sensorial aspects without altering its state or nature. Realized by integrating experimental methods with a more traditional casting process, the vase is made by combining melting slags with bronze that acts as Binder and structural material. The casted piece with a geometric shape is characterized by a raw surface recalling tree bark contrasted by a pure, shimmering polished bronze interior and base. A functional piece marked by a dynamic surface with a strong tactile quality in which imperfections become part of the aesthetic. In the foundry field slag identify a solidified foamy mass thrown off that floats on the surface of molten metal often composed mainly by silicates of aluminium and calcium, rock components and metal oxides derived from the melting process. NOTE: Each piece may present differences in textures and shapes from one another due to the process adopted. These make each of them unique, with charming details that render it distinctive and unrepeatable. The piece has been patinated and waxed to preserve its brilliance and color. However, over time, partial chromatic alterations may form due to the natural effect of the slag in reaction to various environmental conditions. These variations are to be considered not as a defect, but as a unique and peculiar characteristic of the material and of the product. ADDITIONAL INFO: The vases are in Numbered Edition. The wooden box is included in the price.
