About the Item

This sophisticated and striking Mid-Century Modern vase was handblown by esteemed Swedish glass studio Strombergshyttan, previously known as Lindfors. Created by Edward Stromberg- the former head of Orrefors- the studio developed a way to produce glass of a bluish-silver hue that became a hallmark characteristic of Strombergshyttan glass and is exhibited beautifully in this piece. This piece embodies the aesthetic refinement and superlative craftsmanship that collectors of first-rate Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern glass cherish. While it is a perfectly functional vase- ideal for storing flowers- it is also an objet d'art in its own right that would be gorgeous atop any side table or étagère. Signed 'Stromberg' at bottom. Excellent condition. Sweden, circa 1950 Dimensions: 7.5" height X 6" diameter.
