Distinctive Victorian silver plate and glass heron vase. The tall heron figure standing among leaves and bulrushes on a domed base. The heron supporting a glass bud vase insert. Designed by Thomas Wilkinson & Sons, Birmingham, England – the company advertised in 1840 as 'By Special Appointment To Her Majesty.' The trademark with a pelican known as Pelican Ware. Hallmarked: T. W. & S. with pelican, stamped 1411.
