Spectacular Pair Large Round Tulip Vases or Tulipieres, 19th Century

About the Item

A pair of two Dutch Delft tulip vases or tulipieres The Netherlands 19th century A very large and decorative pair of two Dutch Delft tulip vases. Round/scalloped of shape and with 15 spouts on each vase for a large bouquet of flowers. The vases are built of two pieces, one bow (for the water) and a top with an extra compartment for water for the middle spouts. The vases have a handle on each side in the shape of a dragon. Wonderfully decorated with floral ornaments of flowers and leaves. Special about these vases is that they are still a set of two, and not have been split up over the centuries. Therefore extremely rare to find, especially in this large size! Nowadays we call these vases tulip vases, but back in the day, they were just flower vases, to be used with all kinds of flowers. Both with Pseudo (later) mark DS and date 1704. So not an original mark, but in honor of the Delft workshops. These vases can still be used with real flowers, as the pictures show.
