"Strata I Vessel, IV" Extruded & Hand-Dyed Recycled Plastic Vase
About the Item
The Strata I Vessel is made from post-consumer plastics that are robotically extruded and then hand-dyed by the artist during the extrusion process. Shades of blues, purples, oranges, and pinks can be seen throughout the vessel. Its unique form gives it texture from every angle and makes it the center of attention in any room. Comes with a removable glass cylinder vase insert.
The Strata vessels are fabricated in the Oak Park, IL studio of Chicago/Detroit-based artist Cody Norman. Norman is an artist, designer, self-taught engineer, and a Cranbrook Academy of Arts graduate. His process embodies robotic 3D printing and a hand-held extrusion gun to transform recycled and bioplastics into beautiful and functional art objects.
