About the Item
A stunning globose vase with a lovely glaze attributed to Gunnar Nylund at Rörstrand. The vase is not marked except from 3 stars below but it is a Rörstrand vase and it might be designed by Gunnar Nylund. This is probably a sample to try the glaze or the shape and that is why it is not marked below. It is 13.5 cm tall and in excellent condition.
Gunnar Nylund is born in Paris but moved to Denmark and started to work at Bing & Gröndahl porcelain factory in Denmark and after that he started Saxbo ceramics in Denmark and worked there for many years. After that he became the artistic leader at Rörstrand in Sweden and worked there between 1931-1955. Gunnar Nylund is represented at a several Swedish and international museums. He is one of the most well know ceramicists in Scandinavia during the 20th century.
