About the Item

Summer Cochlea dello Sviluppo seasons edition vase by Coki Barbieri Dimensions: W 24 x D 8 x H 30 cm. Materials: Handcrafted stone made with Matera stone fragments, sedimentary rocks of the Italian Apennines and pure water, Italian rock salt crystals, yellow mineral pigments from Italian soils, yellow painted borosilicate glass. Cochlea dello Sviluppo - SEASONS EDITION - Summer Embellished with Italian rock salt crystals colored with natural pigments from the Italian subsoil, this vase from the Cochlea collection (inspired by the metamorphosis of snails) represents architecture and nature united together: curved and geometric shapes resulting from glass and sustainable stone. Like all COKI products, it is entirely made in Italy with raw materials processed according to the highest standards of recovery of virgin stones and using only substances that are not harmful to humans and the environment, without components of animal origin. The particular technique Glaciazione makes it possible to unite crystals and the handcrafted stone created from fragments of historical stones found in Matera (Città dei Sassi, UNESCO World Heritage, European Capital of Culture) and sedimentary rocks of the Italian Apennines, recovered and reprocessed following a sustainable production cycle. This material research is original from the COKI studio and uses a natural chemical and physical adhesion process between the two materials. The result is a composite material, biodegradable in water, so it is recommended not to wet the stone part and always keep it away from sources of humidity. Coki Barbieri established her eponymous studio-workshop in Rimini in 2017, bringing to life a sustainable way of conceiving the product design for home. Nature inspires her environmentally conscious creations, which are imbued with emotional energy while maintaining their aesthetic impact and practical functionality. Coki collaborates with talented Italian craftsmen to produce one-of-a-kind homeware objects capable of unlocking new synergies between concepts, materials, and use.

L Vase Designed by Virginia Frieyro for The Table Project, Spain, 2024
Located in Madrid, ES
This unique piece is part of The Table Project, a collaborative initiative developed in Spain in 2024. Originally designed by Isidro Blasco, the work has been reinterpreted by Virginia Frieyro, a visual artist whose practice lies at the intersection of expanded painting, installation, and spatial intervention. Her work stems from a formal investigation of color and gesture, often connected to architecture and bodily movement. In this intervention, Frieyro transforms the surface of the vase into an immersive pictorial support, applying glazes, stains, and chromatic gestures in a vibrant palette of pinks, blues, greens, and purples. The rhythmic and gestural composition resembles an abstract cartography, where color is layered and interwoven to create a sense of depth and motion. The result is a piece that transcends functionality, existing somewhere between sculpture and three-dimensional painting. About Virginia Frieyro Virginia Frieyro explores abstraction, color, and repetition, weaving vibrant compositions across surfaces. In her ceramic works, color becomes a kind of fabric or structure, inviting an emotional experience. She seeks to connect with the most intimate and sensitive aspects of perception—believing that it is in that precise moment where art truly happens. About The Table Project The Table Project is an initiative by artist Isidro Blasco. From his studio in the Carabanchel neighborhood of Madrid, a series of projects have been developed with the goal of creating distinctive artistic objects and fostering collaboration among local artists. Since 2019, The Table Project has promoted creative encounters grounded in Spain’s rich artisanal traditions, reimagined through a contemporary lens. The initiative has become a space where multidisciplinary artists come together to produce handcrafted works within the context of contemporary art. Launched by Blasco...
