Swedish Mid-Century Studio Pottery Vase, Designed by Agne Aronsson 1970s

About the Item

This Swedish Studio Pottery Vase made by Agne Aronsson has a wonderfully sculptural form, with a gently tapering neck surmounted by a delicate cup shaped mouth. The vase is covered in a delicate black glaze with a gently varied surface. This piece has a great presence, and is not too diminutive in size to make a strong statement as an accent on a shelf or end table. Agne Aronsson (1924-1990) was an independent maker of Swedish Ceramics and important 20th Century Scandinavian Designer. Particularly celebrated today are the modern stoneware pieces he made during the 60s and 70s in his studio in Bjarrum.
