About the Item

Carl-Harry Stålhane is one of Scandinavia’s most characteristic ceramic designers of all time. Stålhane was the Artistic Leader of Rörstrand (Lidköping) starting in the mid 50s. At the same time as he was active at Rörstrand, he was appointed part-time Head Teacher of ceramics and glass at the School of Art and Design in Gothenburg from 1963-to 1971. Stålhane was the Design Manager at Upsala Ekeby for two years before he decided to start his studio Designhuset in Lidköping 1973. At Designhuset he resumed his experiments with local clays and minerals, collaborating with other designers.
