Turquoise Quad Vase

About the Item

With a nod to the spontaneity and privileged imperfection that is the human condition, all of my pieces imbue an energy of function and whimsy. This coil built brown stoneware clay piece is coined the Turquoise Quad Vase as it boasts ghosted copper oxide arteries snaking around the bulbous azure blue vessel. The subtle texture of sgraffito details on white slip echoes the amorphous shapes nodding to ancient Perisian stoneware. The glaze is crazed copper allowing for just enough translucence to show the artist touch on clay. The Turquoise Quad Vase lives as both a timeless decorative object as well as a functional vase, elevating a thorny branch or floral arrangement. This piece is intentionally playful and sophisticated in order to fit seamlessly into a myriad of decor styles, including Mid Century Modern, Contemporary, Bohemian and Classical.
