About the Item
A one-of-a-kind sculptural ceramic piece by Finnish artist Liisa Hallamaa. This tall vessel features a flared base and a bold, tulip-shaped top with scalloped edges and rich glaze work in black, blue, and metallic purple. The surface is raw and expressive, with traces of ash glaze and visible texture from the coarse clay body. A one-of-a-kind form that feels both organic and architectural.
Signed L H and ALAMAA on the base, this piece was likely created in the 1960's or 1970's during Hallamaa’s most active period. It reflects her distinctive style rooted in strong silhouettes, deep glazes, and the material honesty of stoneware. Rare to find in this size and condition.
Let it stand alone on a sideboard, shelf, or table — a statement piece with presence and depth. Highly collectible and a standout example of Liisa Hallamaa’s work, this piece reflects the bold, experimental spirit that made her one of the most distinctive voices in Finnish ceramic art.
