About the Item
Unique Pair of Chinese Carved Cinnabar Vase, Same Shape, Different Decoration, China, Cultural Revolution Period 1966-1976
The vases are accompanied by a fine pair of carved hardwood stands.
A unique pair of Chinese-carved cinnabar vases from the Cultural Revolution period (1966–1976). These exquisite vases are notable for their identical shapes yet distinct decorations, each standing 15 inches high with a 7-inch diameter. The vases come with a fine pair of carved hardwood stands, enhancing their display and elegance.
The blue enamel interior and base add a striking contrast to the rich cinnabar exterior. One vase features garden landscape vignettes on the front and back, while the other showcases scenes of birds and flowers. Despite these differences, both vases are decorated with an intricate, all-over geometric trellis design, exemplifying the meticulous craftsmanship characteristic of this period.
These large cinnabar vases are better than most, offering both artistic beauty and historical significance. Although unmarked, their quality and unique decorative elements make them a valuable addition to any collection of Chinese art. Ready to be placed and admired, this pair of vases is perfect for collectors and enthusiasts seeking to add a touch of cultural heritage and exquisite artistry to their collection or home.

Pair of Chinese Export Porcelain American* Market Landscape Vases & Covers
China, Circa 1800
* American/ European Market, considered to the Chinese to be the same market, by many. it's been suggested the front and back vignettes of houses in landscape on this model, were painted from a European print the Chinese porcelain workshops acquired.
A extraordinary find, a pair of Chinese Export Porcelain American/ European Market painted in sepia, colors and gilt vases & covers, with twelve (12) placed American/ European and Chinese motif vignettes.
Each vase complete with its original cover/ lid with gilt recumbent foo-dog, with two front and back oval vignettes of a Chinese tree in landscape.
Each of the baluster vases, exquisitely hand-painted front and back with a similar American/ European topographical view of country houses with trees landscape. (The Chinese porcelain workshops probably copied these scenes from a European print) Surrounded by an elaborate painted and enameled trellis with vines and leaves.
Some traces worn, additional gilt decoration is evident.
Both sides of the vases are decorated with an upper elongated cartouche painted...
