Vase blown glass violet from Murano
About the Item
This Murano blown glass vase was created by Vetreria d' Este e Zane of Murano.
Different types of workmanship are present in this vase:
Lattice work: a technique that uses the reeds of clear glass (glass rods) containing inside straight or intertwined threads of white color creating inside an embroidery effect (lace)
The second technique is the murrine technique of stones that are melted inside the glass that is blown creating a pattern that is not predefined but drawn by the heat of the melted murrine.
The third technique is that of beaten glass after being created, the vessel is taken to grinding and the glass is "beaten" cold, that is, carved by the master by hand using a tool called a grinding wheel so as to create countless small, seemingly irregular marks.
