Description:
This pair of vintage advertising ashtrays is made of white glazed ceramic and bears the iconic “GITANES” logo. The circular shape features rounded edges and four integrated cigarette rests. The base bears the impressed mark “MDL / FRANCE”.
Interesting facts:
The abbreviation MDL may indicate the factory Moulin des Loups, which operated in Orchies in northern France. This ceramics factory is known for producing both everyday tableware and promotional items. Although the connection is not conclusively proven, stylistic and technical characteristics suggest a link to this manufacturer.
