18th-Century Mocha Pottery Mug with Ochre Slip Ground

About the Item

Mocha pottery mug with ochre slip ground, circa 1790-1810   The cylindrical mug with a flared foot has an ochre-colored slip ground with a wide white band at the rim with a narrow brown line encircling the body. Another narrower white band is found halfway down and then parallel with the terminal of the handle are white and brown bands and finally at the foot a white band. Dimensions: 4 5/8 inches high x 4 3/4 inches wide x 3 1/4 inches deep.
