About the Item

Create an elegant bar area with this exquisite Cave à Liqueur, crafted in France circa 1870. Shaped like a rustic log chest, the rectangular Black Forest Tantalus is richly sculpted in solid walnut, featuring finely carved grapevine and leaf motifs surrounding glass panels on all sides. The lid lifts to reveal etched glass panels with hand-painted floral and foliate designs, showcasing the artistry of 19th-century French craftsmanship. The interior houses a complete set of four matching crystal decanters with faceted stoppers and twelve etched cordial glasses arranged on a removable tray. Each glass and carafe is adorned with intricate floral etching, highlighting the precision and refinement of the period.
