About the Item
This is an extremely fine neoclassical French ornamental cast bronze, brass, and glass liqueur set, circa 1840. This fabulous liqueur set is in the form of a finely patinated bronze sculpture of an elephant walking along and carrying a brass howdah with a large glass barrel on top and two fitted glasses to each side. The barrel is enameled with floral decoration and has a bronze tap from which to serve the whisky. The sculpture is raised on a brass oval plinth base that has a decorative shaped canted edge. Add a whimsical touch to your home or office with this striking antique bronze elephant drinks set.
