About the Item

Elegant English silver-plated tantalus by Z. Barraclough & Sons, Leeds, dating from the late 19th century. This refined Victorian piece holds three beautifully cut crystal decanters with faceted stoppers. The silver-plated frame is finely crafted with a decorative handle and bears the original maker’s marks. The silver holder with key mechanism and turning lock makes it a classic example of a lockable tantalus, designed to store fine spirits securely while presenting them with elegance. The tantalus is in good overall condition, with working lock and key included. The decanters show a few minor chips, not very noticeable due to the richness of the cut pattern. A wonderful piece of Victorian craftsmanship, combining practicality and sophistication — ideal for collectors or as a statement accessory in a bar cabinet or library. Dimensions: Tantalus: Height 11.8 in (30 cm) × Width 13.4 in (34 cm) × Depth 5.1 in (13 cm) Decanters: Height 9.1 in (23 cm) × Width 3.5 in (9 cm) × Depth 3.5 in (9 cm) Free worldwide shipping.
