Antique Danish Royal Family Decanter in Engraved Crystal, 1920s

About the Item

Catalogued as Gallaservice 'Royal Banquet Service' this exceptionally rare decanter is exibited without the stopper at the Danish glass Museum Hardernet and described in the book Royal Glass 'Kongelig Glas' by Ole Villum Krog from 1996. This crystal glass service with detailed engravings and etchings was commissioned by The Royal Danish House for use at Gala's and Banquets at Amalienborg. To this present day it is still in use at Christiansborg Castle. This decanter is a piece of this collection. We suspect it was given as a present at some point to a honorable guest or associate of the Royal Danish Family. It was made by either Kosta Glasbruk in Sweden prior to 1920 from where it was initially ordered from or if made in 1920 by Holmegaard in Denmark who took this job over this particular year. Measurements: H: 31 cm, D/W: 12 cm. Capacity: 0,7 liter.
