About the Item
A fine rare American filigree olive fork or spear.
In sterling silver with gilt tines.
By the Dirksen Silver Filigree Company of Freeport Illinois.
Dirksen was well known to use blanks by other makers (usually A.F. Towle) to created his filigree handled flatware line.
This olive spear is perfect for use today as a cocktail spear.
Marked for Sterling and A.F. Towle to the reverse.
Simply a wonderfully rare piece of American silver history!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is a monogram to the reverse, some light rubbing to the gold, and some very light bending here & there. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
