An exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique Victorian English sterling silver goblet; an addition to our collection of wine and drinks related silverware This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped stem and circular spreading foot. The body of this large silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved suspended leaf festoons accented with ribbon bow motifs and interlacing swags. The decoration to the body incorporates a large oval vacant cartouche to either side. The upper portion of the goblet is encompassed with bright cut engraved interlacing and scalloped borders below an applied moulded rim. The knop to the stem is encircled with a bead decorated border. The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved simplified leaf festoon decoration accented with a scalloped border to the rim. This exceptional and large silver goblet retains the original gilded interior. Condition This antique silver wine goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The goblet has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the goblet are all clear in keeping with age and location. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware. The body of this 1870s silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved foliate festoons accented with pensile leaf drops; these vertical designs form four cartouches. The cartouche to one side bears a bright cut engraved fruit design; the further three remain vacant. The knopped stem is encircled with a plain moulded border to the centre. The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved overlapping arch designs, accented with an applied bead decorated border to the rim.
