About the Item

Berkel's Model 115 slicer is one of the most iconic machines produced by the Dutch company, famous for the quality and distinctive design of its mechanical slicers. Made of cast iron and steel, the Berkel Model 115 slicer has the typical vintage style of the first half of the 20th century and is distinguished by its manual flywheel operation, an element of retro charm that is highly prized by collectors and food enthusiasts. The machine is made of cast iron and steel, materials that give it stability, strength and durability. The structure is robust, designed to provide years of heavy use without compromising cutting quality. Model 115 is driven by a manual flywheel, decorated with embossed details and distinctive floral motifs reminiscent of 1930s aesthetics. The flywheel has an ergonomic handle for easy movement and smooth cutting. The blade is made of hardened steel and has a diameter of about 370 mm, a feature that enables precise and uniform cuts. Due to the blade design and quality materials, the Model 115 is capable of slicing food products with very thin and consistent thicknesses. This slicer allows you to precisely adjust the thickness of the slices, thanks to a side knob. Selectable thicknesses generally range from 0.3 mm to 3 mm, adapting to different types of sliced meats and foods. The machine has a built-in self-lubrication and sharpening system to ensure proper operation and durability of the blade. The sharpening system is located at the top of the machine and is manually activated. Model 115 was produced from the early 1950s, a period when Berkel was consolidating its global reputation. The Berkel 115 pedestal slicer was the last flywheel slicer model made by the company. In addition to its accuracy in technical details and structural solidity, the Berkel Model 115 is famous for its elegant design and the red color typical of Berkel slicers. Not just a designer slicer: this flywheel slicer has been called by the parent company itself the perfect machine, the synthesis of Berkel's experience and knowledge. From an aesthetic point of view but also in terms of its technical solutions, the Berkel 115 slicer is a clear departure from the company's traditional production and has been considered the best flywheel slicer ever built. The combination of quality craftsmanship, precision cutting, and aesthetics makes this model not only a kitchen tool, but also a piece of furniture art that still fascinates professionals and enthusiasts alike.
