Classic Stable Bentley Radiator Decanter
About the Item
Mid-Century Modern Circa 1960
From our Decanter collection, we are pleased to offer this Classic Stable Bentley Decanter. The Decanter modelled as a radiator grill from a Bentley automobile with a mounted radiator cap as the decanter lid. The Decanter is composed from a good quality heavy chromium-plated metal which surrounds a glass container. There is a slot in the back of the decanter is view how much of your favourite spirit remains. The Radiator Decanter dates to the second half of the 20th century Mid-Century Modern period circa 1960.
Classic Stable decanters were designed and made by Tony Gardiner in the 1960s, these were available by special order only in a choice of finishes, the chrome-plated examples were the pinnacle of the creative genius of the highly skilled craftsmen. The Classic Stable series included Bentley, Rolls Royce, Mercedes and Jaguar each costing around 7 guineas. Their cases are heavy nickelled silver-plated bronze with authentic enamelled badges and caps. The finish on each is exceptional quality with careful detailing and superb little tasteful works of art. Marked clearly with the factory Classic Stable plaques to the base, each has a slot in the casing at the rear allowing visibility of the boozy contents.

From our Decanter collection, we are pleased to offer this pair of Scottish Glass Magnum Sized Decanters. The decanters of square form with canted corners featuring a quilted pattern to each face except the front which is engraved with a coat of arms with the words Aye Courage and writing reading Richard Comyns of Ludston. The decanters are complete with cut glass blown ball-shaped stoppers with a matching pattern. The Magnum Decanters date to the turn of the 21st century circa 2000.
