About the Item

A George III mahogany and satinwood marquetry inlaid tantalus, circa 1790. The rectangular traveling chest with conch shell inlaid satinwood hinged top opening to an interior fitted with four original gilt-painted mould-blown transparent glass decanters and two flint glass cordial glasses. Raised on a later stand. Tantalus measures 8.75" x 11" x 8.75" and stand measures 13" x 11.75" x 9.75".
