About the Item
Very rare and also highly coveted champagne cooler from the legendary champagne house of VEUVE CLIQUOT PONSARDIN – often known as ‘The Yellow Widow’ in Denmark.
Made of quality tin in a stunning sculptural design and intended to hold several bottles. Exquisite patina.This cooler is known as model La Grande Dame, which refers to the founder of Veuve Clicquot, Madame Clicquot Ponsardin, who as a mere 27 year old widow took over the company in 1805 and built it into one of the world’s most recognized champagne brands.
Note the fine yellow hexagonal star / logo with the initials VCP (VEUVE CLIQUOT PONSARDIN) and a maritime anchor, which symbolizes hope!
