An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver wine goblet; an addition to our antique wine and drinks related silverware collection This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver wine goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped stem and circular spreading foot. The body of this antique silver goblet is embellished with impressive embossed and chased scrolling leaf decoration accented with bead motifs, all on a matte background. The decoration to the body incorporates plain lobed arch designs, composing five vacant cartouches. The upper rim of the drinking vessel is encircled with an applied moulded border. The circular knop to the plain stem is encompassed with applied bead decoration. The swept foot is embellished with further embossed and chased decoration reflecting that of the body and is encircled with an applied band of bead decoration to the rim. This exceptional antique Victorian silver goblet, in sterling standard, has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped stem and circular spreading foot. The body of this silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved foliate and floral festoons suspended from ribbon bow motifs. The upper portion of this sterling silver goblet is encompassed with bright cut engraved layered leaf decorated border. The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved simplified leaf decorated border, reflecting the design to the rim. Condition This antique Victorian silver goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The goblet has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the goblet are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. The cartouche to one side bears a bright cut engraved fruit design; the further three remain vacant. The knopped stem is encircled with a plain moulded border to the centre. The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved overlapping arch designs, accented with an applied bead decorated border to the rim. Condition This antique 1870s silver goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
