Louis W. Rice (1872 - 1933). Bernard Rice's son. Rare Skyscraper cocktail shaker, New York, 1920 - 22. Electroplated nickel silver. Stamped Skyscraper/DES.PAT.PENDING/APOLLO E.P.N.S./Made by Bernard Rice's Sons, Inc./5257. The stepped, architectural form reflects an embrace of modernism influenced by skyscrapers that were beginning to blanket the New York City, Skyline, complete with a handle and spout that resembles smoke stacks. Dimensions: 11" h x 7 1/4" w x 4 1/4" d.

This is a fantastic and extremely rare desk made by the famous Joseph-Emannuel Zwiner of Paris France. The desk features a superb marble top with hues of purples, whites, and merlot. The incredible dore' bronze mounts are just exsquisite and of the finest possible casting quality and the brilliance of the gold finish is superb and bright. This is a one-of-a-kind piece and has a very high intrinsic value beyond many other noteworthy makers such as Jansen, Forest, and Krieger. The desk is in very good condition with minor signs of age and use and measures 30.75 tall x 47 wide x 21 deep and is signed with a stamp. The 19th-century German cabinetmaker Joseph-Emmanuel Zwiener rose to prominence for his beautiful reproductions of Louis XV furniture in the Rococo style.
