ABOUT An original mid-century bottle opener by Juvento Lopez Reyes. Crafted of fine quality Mexican Sterling silver. Depicts a figural mallard duck with orange glass eyes. Marked Sterling 925, Hecho en Mexico and silversmith makers mark. CREATOR Juventino Lopez Reyes 1915-1999, Mexico. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1950-1960. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Sterling Silver. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor scuff top back of its head. Minor patina, very shiny. DIMENSIONS H 4.5 in. W 6 in. D .2 in. HISTORY Juventino Lopez Reyes, Mexican, was at his height of his creative power in the 1950's. His style was fixed firmly in mid-century Danish design with its simplistic form but yet fitting perfectly into its function.
