About the Item
An extraordinary 20th century beauty, Daniel Loomis Valenza designed this sinuous organic solid staved heavily figured walnut serving ice bucket part of the Cadejo Collection. Wonderful carved and sculpted shape with center handle, beautifully crafted with staved figured walnut. Magnificent as a stand alone sculpture.
Branded on the bottom Cadejo Collection, El Salvador.
In very good condition. Minor wear consistent with use and minor wood age shrinkage and some pitting on the metal liner. Please look at all images.
Measures: 9 3/4 inches diameter at its widest and 10 7/8 inches high.
This item was included in a purchase of a 4-item collection of Valenza creations (3 already sold) which also included the incredible Piggy II jewelry box, salt/pepper set and sculpted tray.
A New Hampshire craftsman and professor, Daniel Loomis Valenza is well known for his exceptional modern wood designs with a Scandinavian inspiration. These pieces were all done in El Salvador by a Master wood carver in the 1970s according to his designs. Just 10 pieces were made of each of the chosen prototypes from twenty articles that had been designed and submitted.
