Pair of Georgian Cut-Glass Antique Wine Decanters, Ireland, circa 1780

$1,200per set

About

A fine pair of cut-glass wine decanters from the last quarter of the eighteenth-century, these likely are products of Ireland and exhibit expert facets across the glass that result in a wonderfully complex geometrical array. Starting in diamond patterns across the swollen body, these compress as the vessel tapers into the neck. Both retain their original stoppers with circular faceted finials. Measurements: 11" H (total) x 4 1/2" diameter Condition report: One with several tiny chips and one large chip out of the rim of the decanter; the lid of the same with numerous chip losses around the faceted edges of the circular finial; the other decanter with a tiny chip around the neck, a few scuffs and abrasions to the body; both decanters with wear to the underside and some surface blemishes.
