“Palmiro” Portable Bar by Sergio Mazza and Giulia Gramigna for Krupp, 1971

About the Item

This rare, sculptural bottle carrier was designed by Italian architects Sergio Mazza & Giuliana Gramigna for Arthur Krupp Milano, in 1971, as part of the tableware that the duo designed for this company. It is made of stainless steel and it remains in very good original conditions. It can hold up to 6 bottles. Mazza & Gramigna were two key figures in Italian postwar architecture and design: together they designed many pieces for Artemide (which Mazza also co-founded). Gramigna was also a critic and historian, and wrote many essential books on Italian design. The piece is signed with the two designers' names and carrying the producer marking. It is also published. Literature: "Sergio Mazza, Giuiana Gramigna. Quaranta anni di professione: album fotografico", Maschietto & Musolino, 1995
