About the Item

The contemporary Solitario is a 480 ml approx. (7.3 ounces) hand-blown Murano glass decanter, and a 215 ml approx. (16.2 Ounces) glass, with a snooker ball stopper, and a hidden ashtray in the base of the decanter tray holder. It is a fun and practical set with the playful element of rolling the snooker ball along the rippling base tray surface made in 3D printed satin black PA12 Nylon. This intricate object of unique design by Alexandre Arrechea was created during the Layers project, a collaboration with SoShiro gallery. This piece is one of the four objects in the 3D printed Estadios series (Solitario, Snooker Triangle, X-Tray, and O-Bowl) inspired by the playful themes of the Layers collection. There is a distinct relation to the urban social nightlife of Havana, with the inclusion of existing and relatable elements, such as the snooker ball and the dice, supporting the notion of games, time-out, and life. The snooker ball rolling around in planetary orbit around the bottle is reminiscent of the sultry evenings of parlor nooks.
