About the Item

Great for serving cocktails or simply a wonderful decorative set. About Aseda and Bo Borgström (from Wikipedia): Åseda Glasbruk was a Swedish glass factory that operated in Åseda, Kronoberg County, between 1947 and 1977. It was incorporated in 1975 into the Royal Krona group, which went into liquidation in 1977. Åseda Glasbruk's chief designer was Bo Borgstrom, who graduated from Stockholm's Swedish School of Arts and Crafts in 1951. Borgstrom was widely acclaimed as a ceramics artist before joining Åseda in 1961.

1930s Napier Silver-Plate Cocktail Shaker Designed by Emil Schuelke
By Emil Schuelke
Located in Minneapolis, MN
Here is a hard-to-find modernist silver-plate cocktail shaker designer by Emil Schuelke in the mid-1930s and made by Napier Company of Meriden, Connecticut. The cone-shaped shaker consists of two pieces--the top can be used for measuring ingredients. This example is in good condition--there are no deep scratches or dents. There some silver losses on the body and top of the shaker and the inside strainer has loss as well. You can tell the shaker has been used--there is wear to the interior. We've included several photos which represent the condition well. But all in all, this shaker presents nicely and would make a great addition to any bar or cocktail shaker collection. From Wikipedia: "Napier silver designs from the first half of the 20th century are in museum collections including the Brooklyn Museum, Newark Museum and a substantial collection at the Dallas Museum of Art. Over the years, Napier silver has been featured in museum exhibitions, including Modernism in American Silver: 20th Century Design at the Smithsonian in Washington, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Wolfsonian in Miami Beach, the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno, and the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, TN (2005–07). Napier designs have also been included in two shows at the Brooklyn Museum, entitled 19th century Modern (2011–12; 2013–15). In November 2016-November 2017, the iconic Napier penguin cocktail shaker...
