Verdigris Mid-Century Shang Dynasty Style Ice Bucket with Asian Motif
About the Item
The shape and color of this verdigris ice bucket that appears to be carved stone is stunning. It has a story, in that it is from a collection of barware that is based on artifacts from the Shiang Dynasty--the earliest dynasty of traditional Chinese history. The barware set was produced in Taiwan and this ice bucket was one of the pieces in the set. The verdigris is a nod to bronze artifacts from Chinese history.
IAbove all, the piece is practical as well. This is the perfect container to fill with crushed ice and a plastic liner to serve caviar with all the condiments and a smashing presentation once the lid is removed. This piece is reminiscent of ice buckets attrbuted to James Mont from the Hollywood Regency period of the 1960s.
It measures 8.5 inches tall and 11 inches wide from handle to handle.
This is a wonderful one-off piece for elegant entertaining with flair.
