Vintage Lindisfarne Style 1960's Sterling Silver Pint Mug

An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage English sterling silver Lindisfarne style pint mug; an addition to our diverse silverware collection. This exceptional, fine and impressive vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver pint mug has a plain circular rounded form onto a spreading foot. The surface of the mug is plain and unembellished. This vintage silver mug is fitted with a fine and impressive sterling silver handle embellished with impressive symmetrical interlacing and scrolling decoration accented with a Celtic dragon thumbpiece, all in the iconic Lindisfarne style. The upper portion of the circular foot is encompassed with a knop embellished with further impressive Celtic decoration. Condition This vintage Lindisfarne silver mug is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The mug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mug are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware. The surface of this vintage silver goblet has a subtly planished finish. The body of the goblet is further ornamented with three impressive cast and applied leaf designs, emanating and conjoining with the plain waisted stem. The plain domed circular foot features an impressive tiered arrangement. This exceptional goblet was crafted by the female silversmith Joan Ruxton and assayed in Sheffield; the vessel is hallmarked with the date letter 'X' (1965) and the underside bears the mark 'A' (1968)*. * It can be determined that this artisanal silversmith will have opted to create an addition plate for the base to provide further weight to the piece, this component was hallmarked at a later date to the initial vessel.
