Stunning single French bronze and ormolu cherub dish- or tazza
This stunning piece is in the manner of Clodion
Visually stunning and of outstanding quality
Classic chubby putti in bronze hold aloft the gilt bowl
The gilt sections - particularly the base - features intricate rocaille work
Rocaille - an 18th-century artistic or architectural style of decoration characterized by elaborate ornamentation with pebbles and shells, typical of grottos and fountains.
The overall quality to the casting is superb very detailed with a great patina
In the right setting this would really make any interior come alive
Hopefully the photos illustrate the intricacy to the casting
Bought from a dealer at Les Puces flea market in Paris
