A large Hollywood Regency pewter cabbage leaf serving bowl by Golan.
This stunning large cabbage or lettuce leaf bowl by Golan is a testament to their masterful design and artistic craftsmanship. Inspired by the organic beauty of nature, the bowl’s textured interior surface mimics the intricate veining and layered folds of a cabbage leaf, beautifully rendered in a gleaming silver-toned finish. At the center of the dish on the inside, is the Golan G. The bowl is generously sized to function as both a statement centerpiece and a versatile serving dish. The piece has a sturdy raised pedestal base of four rectangular bases on the bottom. One of the bases on the bottom features the Golan stamp.
Cabbage ware or lettuce ware has long been a popular choice when entertaining or for collecting. This piece is different in that it is made of metal and cannot chip. It would be great if used as a decorative sculpture on a console or credenza, or on a table filled with fruits. It is also perfect for serving salads, and breads, or as a refined vessel for displaying seasonal décor, such as flowers or ornaments. Its timeless design complements a variety of interior styles, including modern, transitional, and Hollywood Regency.
