Three Hand-Wrought Sterling Silver Scallop Form Bowls Signed by Missiaglia

Established in Venice in 1846, Missiaglia is one of the world's premier makers of the finest jewelry objects, as well as a select number of bespoke sterling silver tabletop accessories. This handwrought set of three scallop form decorative bowls showcase the skill of Missiaglia's artisans in rendering life-like plant and animal forms in pure sterling silver. These scallop form bowls reprise a leitmotif found throughout art and design history (think of "Birth of Venus" by Botticelli). They offer sculptural channeled forms with crested, wave like backs that sit on miniature scallop form feet (attesting to the fact that no detail- no matter how small- is overlooked in their construction. With their clean modernist lines and exquisite craftsmanship, these bowls promise to beautify any surface that they grace. While they are completely functional objects- ideal for presenting a myriad number of items- they are also objet d'art in their own right, sure to delight discerning collectors of all things rare and beautiful.
