Medium Maple Cutting Board from the Deborah Ehrlich Collection
About the Item
Designed by Deborah Ehrlich and made in Rhode Island by the same master craftsman who makes her chairs - the simplicity and elegance of this maple cutting board speaks to the collector of Deborah Ehrlich's crystal glassware and furniture.
It's thin, light, and made from one piece of maple; it fits easily in the hand and can be used as a bread board, cutting board or serving platter.
Both the designer and the craftsman use thoughtful consideration to attain the precision that is necessary for a design to become as invisible as it is natural.

Deborah Ehrlich LLC
Deborah Ehrlich has been known for her exquisitely simple crystal glassware since 1999, launching her career with Takashimaya and Moss. Her work is featured in collections around the world, including March SF, E.R. Butler&Co., and Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Classically trained as a sculptor, each piece is a union of contemporary forms and traditional techniques. With her commitment to the highest quality artisanship, her work is instantly recognizable for its purity and delicacy. Designed in the Hudson Valley, her crystal is paper thin, clear as water, and absolutely flawless. Hand blown, cut, and polished by master craftsmen in Sweden, the strength of the crystal enables her to push the limits between elegance and strength. Her furniture and light installations are fabricated with incredible attention to detail, using traditional techniques, by one of the most highly skilled artisans in the United States. The quality of the work speaks for itself, and has created a loyal following for over 18 years. “Knowing when you’ve found a perfectly balanced proportion is no guessing game,” she says. “It’s like feeling in the dark for a door handle—when you come upon it, the emptiness becomes structured. It’s very, very clear that by finding it, you are holding onto a much larger piece of architecture.”
