About the Item
A fine antique French Empire cut crystal round shaped centerpiece bowl with a wavy edge. Mounted in a footed hand chiseled ormolu mount decorated with embossed masks, flowers and acanthus leaves. Signed to the base: Ferdinand Barbedienne, France 1810 to 1892. Dates to the 19th century. Ferdinand Barbedienne was a French metalworker and manufacturer, who was well known as a bronze founder.
