Antique & Rare Pair of Hand Carved Italian Alabaster Tazza Table Display Pieces

About the Item

All handcrafted out of alabaster these stylish & decorative tazzas make great centrepieces. This rare pair of early 1900s tazzas comes with overhanging wine branches all around the circular tops. Finding this pair of Renaissance Revival tazzas more than made our day, because they will look great as dinner table centrepieces, but also on a side table with maybe some potpourri in them these too will make great decorative pieces. Many centuries ago tazzas were initially used as drinking vessels only, but later in time they were used for other purposes as well. This pair obviously is perfect for putting grapes on when entertaining guests with food and wine, but they also make great fruit bowls presented with a wide variety of colors. Have you also noticed the striking, entwined dolphins twirling down to the stem? They make this pair even more decorative and remarkable. As is almost always the case, these original and good condition tazzas have some minor losses (to the overhanging leafs only), but thanks to the richness of these decorations they are not very noticeable. If you appreciate this antique pair of natural mineral stone tazzas as much as we do then you will also love our price. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are complimentary. Maximum height x diameter: 8.6 x 10 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop all our 1000+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.

Antique, Rare & Decorative Pair of Hand Carved and Hand Painted Horse Sculptures
Located in Lisse, NL
Stunning and unique pair of matching horse sculptures. With a combined experience of almost 30 years in the antiques trade, we were thrilled to once again find beautifully hand-crafted and decorative antiques that we had never seen before. From the density and the weight we can see and feel that these highly decorative horse sculptures are made of a tropical hardwood. Like, for example, with antique mirror frames or church sculptures these horses too were first covered with a mixture of chalk and glue so that the paint would hold longer. And, as so often is the case with antiques, the colors that were used for painting these horses are so much more beautiful than anything you find in this day and age that they truly are an absolute joy to look at. From the colors, the wear, the materials and the techniques that were used to create these horses we can see that these are 19th century antiques. However and unfortunately we lack the knowledge to be able to tell you from which country these highly decorative and sizeable works of art originate. We just can't find matching style horse sculptures anywhere on the worldwide web. They could be Chinese or Nepalese, but they could also be Persian or Arabian. We just have not been able to find out. What we do know is that they are definitely antique, they are in beautiful condition (with some wear, consistent with their age), they are highly decorative, probably unique and they have a look and feel that will instantly change the atmosphere of the room they are in. Mind you, our sharp price for this wonderful pair of horse sculptures...

Antique Wall Display Cabinet with a Rare Mary & Child Jesus Sculpture Fragment
Located in Lisse, NL
One of a kind, handcrafted display cabinet with a rare religious artefact. This excellent wall display cabinet still opens and closes perfectly and it comes with the original antique glass in the door. Finding antiques with the original glass with that beautiful ripple in it, always makes those pieces extra desirable (in our view). The striking acorn and leaf motifs in the handcrafted, molded borders of the door too are very stylish features to enjoy. Over the decades the gilding has slightly warn off, which has created a marvelous patina. Given the style, age and perfect fit, we think that this antique wall cabinet was specifically made for the rare religious fragment that it is holding. If you like this unique display cabinet then you will love the rare fragment it is holding. From the missing pieces on the sides you can see that this Virgin Mary and child Jesus plaque...
