An exceptional Carl Thieme for Dresden Polychrome Centerpiece. Made from porcelain with colorful details. The bowl has a diamond form with flowers and gold trim. Supported by four cherubs / Puttis. “The Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur Dresden GmbH (Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Dresden Ltd), generally known in English as Dresden Porcelain, is a German company for the production of decorative and luxury porcelain. Founded in1872, it is located in Potschappel, a suburb of the town of Freital in the Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge district about 8 km (5 mi) southwest of Dresden, the capital of Saxony.     Antique Austrian scalloped porcelain bowl featuring a gold, turquoise and red Neoclassical theme with a Cherub riding in chariot led by three flower girls. The Stara Role (Altrohlau) pottery works were established in 1810 by Benedict Haßlacher. The manufacture was bought by Augustin Novotny in 1824. Under his management employment rose to 100 workers. He also established three warehouses in Prague, Vienna and Pest. In 1836 Novotny started manufacturing porcelain. The factory production was constantly rising. In 1870 it employed 800 workers.
