Pair of Majolica Black-A-Moors by Thomas Sergent
About the Item
They are attributed to Thomas Sergent, a celebrated French pottery firm of the late 19th c. that specialised in majolica production. Extant works of Thomas Sergent often display the influence of the School of Tours and the work of Bernard de Palissy. They were produced between 1880-1910, the period when artisan potters produced wares of an African or Orientalist nature.
