Secondo Fuoco Cratere Contemporary Centerpiece in Bronze
About the Item
Secondo Fuoco is an investigation into bronze, a reflection on the multiple souls of matter: its mineral origin, re-obtained by smelting processes and its artificiality. A sculptural and material collection that combines the purity of bronze with Its spontaneity.
Focusing on bronze TIPSTUDIO aims to enhance them, by preserving its conformation, aesthetic and its sensorial aspects without altering its state or nature. The casted piece with a geometric shape is characterized by a raw internal surface recalling a moon surface contrasted by a satin and flat external face. A functional piece marked by a dynamic surface with a strong tactile quality in which imperfections become part of the aesthetic.
The piece can also be used as magazine racks.
Note:
Each piece may present differences in textures and shapes from one another due to the process adopted. These make each of them unique, with charming details that render it distinctive and unrepeatable.
The piece has been patinated and waxed to preserve its brilliance and color. However, over time, partial chromatic alterations may form due to the natural effect of the slag in reaction to various environmental conditions. These variations are to be considered not as a defect, but as a unique and peculiar characteristic of the material and of the product.

TIPSTUDIO
TIPSTUDIO is Imma Matera and Tommaso Lucarini, Florentine by adoption based duo driven by a material research with a more poetic process to investigate and explore the boundary of nowadays design. They are determined to transform any idea into a narrative project to catch emotions through an in-depth research on processes and territories. The form is just the shape of the process, It becomes the output of a path of experimentation on material and immaterial values. Their works come from the blending of anthropological aspects, conceptual analysis and territories in a continuous intertwining between the poetry of Matera with the materiality of Pietrasanta. Currently TIPSTUDIO works across different disciplines, companies and artisans to create new products, unique pieces and concepts in a continuous journey.

A Rare 1859 Elkington Silvered Bronze Victorian "Trophy" Centerpiece
By Elkington Mason & Co.
Located in New York, NY
A Rare and Historic 1859 Elkington Silvered Bronze Victorian Centerpiece with Cut-Glass Bowl.
Presenting a magnificent Victorian silvered bronze centerpiece of unmatched rarity and importance, crafted by the renowned Elkington Mason & Co., Birmingham, in 1859. This exceptional work, complete with its original cut-glass bowl, epitomizes 19th-century British craftsmanship and artistry. Hallmarked to the base, this centerpiece showcases intricate sculptural details, embodying a high level of technical prowess and aesthetic refinement characteristic of Elkington's celebrated works.
The centerpiece's striking design features three meticulously rendered figures—a young hunter, a friar, and a fishmonger—each embodying elements of Victorian life and industry. At their feet, a loyal spaniel and various game highlight the naturalistic approach to the composition, enhanced by the masterful chasing and dynamic form. This sculptural ensemble rests on an elaborately decorated base, exuding both grandeur and narrative depth.
Adding profound historical value are two engraved plaques. The first, dated “January 28, 1859,” reads: “Presented to William Johnson Esq. as a token of respect & esteem by the workpeople in the employ of Messrs Richard Johnson & Brother, Manchester.” The second, an inscription from 1941, states: “Worshipful Company of Tin Plate Workers, Alias Wire Workers of the City of London, Presented by Arthur Laurence Johnson M.A., Grandson of William Johnson, both Wire Workers, with his Daughter Eleanor Morton Johnson, a Freeman of the Company, to commemorate his Mastership 1941-42.”
These inscriptions chart a rich lineage, connecting the Johnson family to pivotal moments in industrial history. William Johnson, alongside his brother Richard, assumed leadership of a wire-drawing firm in 1838, which would later become Richard Johnson & Nephew Ltd. Their contributions included providing galvanized armored wire for the historic 1857 transatlantic telegraph cable...
